SYNOPSIS

Mitad Mundo was conceived and shot September 2019 within the framework of an artistic residency at the Instituto Superior de Cine de Quito, and with Quito's botanical garden collaboration, before and during the indigenous revolts due to the increase in the fuel tax.

The film works like notes of a childbirth. It points to the possible pregnancy of the protagonist, to a virgin forest and its opposite artifice; to a monumental reproduction of a laboring virgin, to a clinical diary of an aggressive birth and to a social revolt, that just born.
